NPELRA Membership
Dedicated to promoting excellence in labor and employee relations in support of public management.
Established in 1971, National Public Employer Labor Relations Association (NPELRA), is a nationwide organization of over 2,900 public sector professionals employed by federal, state, and local governments, and school and special districts. NPELRA membership is also open to consultants and attorneys who exclusively represent the interests of management, primarily in the public sector.
One of the major benefits of being an NPELRA member is enjoying discounted rates for the best training available today for labor relations professionals. This includes our Annual Training Conference, and our Labor Relations Academy Program, a three-part program that leads to the distinguished title of Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP). Additionally, we feature two Elective Academies: Interest Arbitration and Costing a Labor Contract.
Via email, you will receive Connections, our outstanding monthly newsletter that keeps you in touch with national and regional developments. Through our web site, npelra.org, you can access our Membership Directory, stay up to date regarding legislative and legal issues, and benefit from our Career Center, Speakers Bureau, and Contract Language Database. Furthermore, NPELRA offers a wide range of informative professional Publications, our Mentorship Program, and access to our Arbitrator Profile Database.
NPELRA membership connects you with colleagues across the United States and can be a valuable tool to your professional career. You will find that the more you participate and become involved on both state and national levels, the greater the benefit your NPELRA membership will be.
NPELRA members have established state or regional organizations in numerous areas to further opportunities for networking, information sharing and advocacy in the judicial and legislative arenas at the state level. Such organizations currently exist in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, the Rocky Mountain Region, Texas, Washington State, and Wisconsin. Many of these state associations (State PELRAs) offer dual memberships in both the state and national organizations.
