During these ever-changing times and calls for law enforcement reform, it is important to plan properly and engage the union responsibly. The presenters will discuss strategies for working with law enforcement unions to incorporate ideas of law enforcement reform into the collective bargaining processes and how to best negotiate changes. They will focus on the following topics: (1) what it means to 㤥fund䠴he police; (2) the use of civilian review boards; (3) examples of local laws that might create barriers to change; (4) general bargaining strategies; and (5) how those strategies have played out in different parts of the country.
