Do I need to join NPELRA and my state chapter?

No. By joining your local chapter, you are automatically a member of National PELRA. If you don't have a state chapter, you may join via the Non-Affiliated or Multiple States membership.

What if I don't have a state chapter?

You can still become a member of just the National Public Employee Labor Relations Association! You are still eligible for all of the member categories and enjoy all member benefits as a Non-Affiliated or Multiple States member.

Are fees prorated?

Yes! If you are a new member* and join during the calendar year, your fees will be prorated based on the start of the membership cycle, January 1st. The discount will apply at checkout.

If you are a renewing member, your fees will not be prorated.

Annual Fees

Each state offers different membership types at varying rates; each state membership automatically includes membership to NPELRA. If you do not have a state chapter, you are able to join via the Non-Affiliated membership. Membership periods begin January 1st; new members can join anytime during the year and received a prorated price.

Renewals

Renewals will be invoiced on approximately December 1st of each year and are due January 1st. An unpaid renewal will be kept on file for 12 months and will be charged the full rate when renewing, regardless of which month you renew in. Renewals cannot be directly completed online; see your invoice for details.
