Essential Skills for Supervisory Success
This training is a basic course for new or newer supervisors in union and non-union environments, developed by IPELRA and includes skills supervisors need to know as supervisors … and can be beneficial as an entry-level “brush-up” training for not-so-new supervisors. This training is intended for supervisory and management personnel only.
This full day of skills training will cover the following topics:
- Making the Transition from Peer to Supervisor
- Resources You Need to Know – Policies, Contracts, and More
- Communication, Coaching and Counseling Employees
- Having Difficult Conversations
- Performance Management
- Harassment and Discrimination
- Recruitment and Hiring
- Legal Implications – Sick Leave, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, ADA, Fitness for Duty
Training sessions will be conducted by the IPELRA Supervisor Training Team – a team of professionals in the field that collectively offers years of practical, hands-on public sector supervisory and HR experience and insights, and extensive labor relations expertise.
Lunch will be provided, please note any dietary requirements with your registration.
